The Bavarian Film Award ceremony, the most highly endowed award in the German film industry, took place with many celebrities from film, television and politics at the Prinzregententheater in Munich on June 16, 2023. The Bavarian Film Prize has been awarded by the Bavarian state government since 1979 to highlight the importance of cinema as a cultural asset. The prizes are awarded to German filmmakers in eleven different categories by an independent ten-member jury for outstanding achievements.
In the Prinzregententheater, more than 200 spotlights were installed and controlled with four lighting consoles within two days as part of the successful cooperation with BR. Five video servers were used for the projections - consisting of a softedge rear projection using three beamers plus backup, two side projections, and an eight-meter tandem projection. In addition, six Seamless Monitors were used, which were built into the set. All systems were connected to a redundant network infrastructure with a nominal throughput of 40 Gbit/second. The total power requirement for all systems, including BR's OB van, was approximately 600 amps. A total of approx. 30 tons of stage equipment was installed - including some custom-made equipment that was still adapted on site.
